Taravella HS Students Take CCCS to DECA State Finals!
Taravella High School DECA club returned victorious from the regional Broward County marketing challenge - with over 2,500 students across the county competing for the opportunity to contend at the state level in Orlando March 1st - 4th, 2012.
Taravella students Zach Chernicky, Jesse Archambault, and Kyle Archambault chose The Country Club of Coral Springs as their project focus. Over 50 Club Members responded to their marketing survey.

MLK Jr. Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament - brought nearly
60 golfers to The Country Club of Coral Springs
Aime Guralnick is very glad the Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee recently hosted its sixth annual golf tournament to benefit area high school seniors.
The Golfing for the King Golf Classic raises money for the MLK Jr. Scholarship Fund, and thanks to that effort, participants like Guralnick have received a financial boost so they can go to college.

Joins The Country Club of Coral Springs Pro Staff
The Country Club of Coral Springs proudly announces the addition of John Nelson, renowned South Florida golf instructor and PGA Class A Professional, to its staff. As Director of Golf Instruction, Nelson will provide private/group golf lessons, clinics, and direct the newly established Golf Academy.
“The Country Club of Coral Springs has been a staple in the South Florida golfing community for over 40 years.” said Nelson. “I’m pleased to be part of the positive changes that have been taking place at the club over the last several months. The Golf Academy is yet another addition to the new and improved golf course, tennis, and club facilities.”
The Golf Academy currently offers on course instruction, driving range practice facilities, and short game schools. As a semi-private club, instruction is open to all. “Whether you are a seasoned player, or new to the sport, The Country Club of Coral Springs Golf Academy can help you improve every facet of your game.” said Nelson.

There’s a new sheriff at The Country Club of Coral Springs and he has some big changes planned for the staff, property, and membership as the 42 year-old semi-private golf, dining, and tennis club approaches the October opening of the new golf season.
“I have spent over 20 years actively involved in Florida’s golf and country club communities and I’m very familiar with The Country Club of Coral Springs’ magnificent history.” said Bill Friesing, newly appointed General Manager and Director of Golf. “Although the club fell on some hard times, I’ve always believed there was great potential to bring it back and make it even better than it was before. With the new owners and management firmly in place, that dream is finally becoming a reality and I’m thrilled to be at the helm.”

Getting Back on Course - The Country Club of Coral Springs is making improvements to return to glory
The Country Club of Coral Springs is undergoing a renaissance that is taking the local landmark to new heights and returning the once premiere club to being among the best in Broward County.
"We got a reputation for having a golf course that was in really, really bad shape," says Bill Friesing, general manager and director of golf.
"His goal was to bring it back to life," Friesing says.

CCCS Preface> - In the late 1960's, Coral Ridge Properties developed a neighborhood in Coral Springs and called it The Country Club. These single family homes were adjacent to land designated for a golf course, which would later become The Country Club of Coral Springs. The following article highlights Coral Springs, FL as one of three master planned communities. The Country Club of Coral Springs was an integral part of the city planning, and continues to play a prominent role in our community over thirty years later.

Remembering former Coral Springs Mayor Ben Geiger
Otis Benjamin "Ben" Geiger, one of the most influential politicians of Coral Springs' early years and a key person in the growth of the city, died at his home in Margate last week. The burial service was at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Pompano Beach. This was followed by a celebration of life at The Country Club of Coral Springs on the same day.

Golf Infomerical Filmed at CCCS
Golf Tee Design chose The Country Club of Coral Springs to film their latest infomercial for the Golf Tee Clip. This tool specializes in developing correct aiming skills. The video includes CCCS PGA Pros Paul Wilson and Mark Contento, and members Nancy Porto and Joe Lewis, son of Bob and Olga Lewis.
Taking Care of Business
Bernie Moyle didn't intend to start a hotel brand when he graduated law school at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. "I was dragged into it kicking and screaming by Roger," he jokes about his longtime partner Roger Bloss. But since 1999, Moyle and Bloss, with the help of several other associates, not only started Vantage Hospitality, but also created one of the more innovative and fastest growing franchise brands in the industry.

CORAL SPRINGS – The concept of playing golf at night had to be the result of some college fraternity looking for a prank to use on future pledges; load the guys with some beer, hand them the keys to the carts and send them on their way for nine holes.

Fourth Annual Invitational Charity Golf Tournament
Benefiting SmileTrain.org

Last year, the Patron Spirits Co. hosted tournament in Coral Springs raised enough money to provide 450 children with the operation. This year was even more successful, and the fourth annual Invitational Charity Golf Tournament in Coral Springs raised enough to provide 500 children with the operation.
